Ars Fidelium LLC, an Oregon limited liability company (“Ars Fidelium,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Website Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain information through the public Ars Fidelium website at arsfidelium.com (the “Public Website”) and the choices available to you.

This policy applies only to the Public Website. It covers the Public Website’s contact forms, mailing-list forms, cookies, analytics, advertising-measurement technologies, and other public-facing features. It does not govern parent or student information collected through Ars Fidelium Academy at academy.arsfidelium.com. Academy privacy practices, including children’s information and parent-managed student accounts, are described in the Ars Fidelium Academy Privacy Policy and Children’s Privacy Notice.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily submit through the Public Website, including:

Your name and email address;
Your message and any other information you include in a contact or inquiry form;
Your mailing-list subscription status and communication preferences;
Optional information supplied by an adult, such as a child’s general age range, grade range, or educational setting; and
Information you provide when responding to a survey, requesting information, or otherwise communicating with us.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information through the Public Website’s contact or mailing-list forms.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Public Website, Weebly and other technologies used on the site may automatically collect information such as:

Your Internet Protocol (IP) address;
Browser type, device type, operating system, and general device information;
Pages viewed, links or buttons selected, referring and exit pages, and the date and time of a visit;
General geographic information derived from an IP address;
Cookie identifiers and similar online identifiers; and
Information about how the Public Website performs and how visitors interact with it.

The information collected depends on your device, browser settings, location, and cookie choices.

1.3 Payment information

The Public Website does not directly collect or store tuition payment-card information. Enrollment and payment are completed through Ars Fidelium Academy and its payment processor, as described in the Academy Privacy Policy and Children’s Privacy Notice.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information collected through the Public Website to:

Respond to inquiries and provide requested information;
Send enrollment notices, curriculum updates, program announcements, and other Ars Fidelium communications to people who have subscribed;
Manage mailing-list preferences and honor unsubscribe requests;
Operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the Public Website;
Understand website traffic, visitor engagement, and the effectiveness of our outreach;
Measure the effectiveness of Ars Fidelium advertising when a visitor has permitted the relevant cookies or technologies;
Prevent misuse, fraud, or security threats;
Maintain appropriate business records and enforce our legal rights; and
Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use information submitted through the Public Website to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Email Communications

If you join an Ars Fidelium mailing list, you may receive emails about enrollment availability, program and curriculum development, new articles or resources, and other Ars Fidelium announcements. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the message or by contacting us.

After you unsubscribe, we may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can honor your request. Unsubscribing from promotional emails does not prevent us from responding to a message you send or from delivering a legally required or transaction-related communication associated with a separate Academy enrollment.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

4.1 Types of technologies

The Public Website may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Necessary technologies support basic website operation, security, network management, and consent preferences.
Preference technologies remember choices that improve how the site functions or appears.
Statistics technologies help us understand aggregate traffic and how visitors use the site.
Marketing technologies help measure advertising effectiveness and may allow an advertising provider to associate Public Website activity with information it already holds.

4.2 Cookiebot consent controls

We use Cookiebot by Usercentrics to display cookie information, record consent choices, and control nonessential technologies where configured. Necessary technologies may operate without consent when required for the site to function. Statistics and marketing technologies are used according to the consent choices presented to you and applicable law.

You may also control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain technologies may affect how some parts of the Public Website function. Cookiebot’s automatically generated Cookie Declaration, when displayed on the Public Website, provides additional details about cookies and similar technologies detected during its most recent scan.

4.3 Meta Pixel

With the visitor’s applicable consent, the Public Website may use the Meta Pixel to measure advertising effectiveness and understand actions taken after a person views or interacts with Ars Fidelium advertising. The Meta Pixel may disclose information such as cookie or online identifiers, IP address, device and browser information, page visits, and website interactions to Meta Platforms, Inc. Meta may use this information for measurement, matching, analytics, and advertising in accordance with its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not sell personal information for money. Depending on the law that applies where you live, the disclosure of online identifiers and website-interaction information to an advertising platform may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or processing for targeted advertising. You can decline or withdraw consent for marketing technologies through the Cookiebot controls above. You may also use privacy controls offered by Meta.

4.4 No Google Analytics disclosure

As of the last-updated date above, Ars Fidelium does not use Google Analytics on the Public Website. If we add a new analytics or marketing technology, we will update this policy and the applicable cookie disclosures before or when that technology is implemented.

5. Service Providers and Other Disclosures

We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate the Public Website and communicate with visitors. These may include:

Weebly, part of the Square product suite, for website hosting, forms, security, and related site functionality;
Cookiebot by Usercentrics for cookie scanning and consent management;
Meta Platforms, Inc. for advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel when the visitor permits the applicable technology;
Our email subscription and delivery provider for managing subscriptions and sending Ars Fidelium emails;
Vimeo, where a Vimeo video is embedded, for delivery of video content; and
Professional advisers, security providers, and other contractors when reasonably necessary to operate, protect, or support Ars Fidelium.

These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We encourage you to review the privacy information made available by the services you use.

We may also disclose information:

When required by law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process;
When reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or threats to rights or safety;
To establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; or
In connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, acquisition, dissolution, or other transfer of all or part of the business, subject to applicable law.

6. Sale of Personal Information

Ars Fidelium does not sell personal information for money and does not rent mailing lists to third parties. As explained in Section 4.3, certain disclosures made through marketing technologies may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted-advertising processing under some laws even though no money is exchanged. Where applicable, Cookiebot provides a way to decline or withdraw consent for those technologies.

7. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:

Mailing-list information until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to a limited suppression record retained to honor your choice;
Inquiry and correspondence information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, follow up, maintain appropriate business records, or resolve a dispute;
Cookie consent records and automatically collected information for the periods established by the relevant service or our configuration; and
Information reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, tax or accounting obligations, or the establishment and defense of legal claims.

Retention periods may vary based on the nature of the information and applicable legal obligations. When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Public Website’s inquiry and mailing-list forms are intended for parents, legal guardians, educators, and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through those forms. Parents or other adults may voluntarily provide limited information such as a child’s general age range, grade range, or educational setting.

If you believe that a child under 13 has submitted personal information directly through the Public Website without appropriate parental involvement, contact us using the information in Section 14. We will review the request and delete the information when required.

Student accounts and student information collected through Ars Fidelium Academy are governed by the separate Ars Fidelium Academy Privacy Policy and Children’s Privacy Notice.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have the right to:

Ask whether we process your personal information and request access to it;
Request correction of inaccurate information;
Request deletion of information;
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
Unsubscribe from promotional email communications;
Object to or opt out of certain targeted-advertising, sale, or sharing activities; and
Receive other rights provided by applicable law.

We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. Rights are subject to applicable legal exceptions, and not every right applies in every jurisdiction or circumstance.

You may use an authorized agent where applicable law permits. We may request evidence of the agent’s authority and may need to verify your identity directly. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

11. Visitors Outside the United States

Ars Fidelium is based in Oregon, United States. The Public Website and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required by applicable law, we rely on consent, performance of a requested service, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, or another lawful basis for processing. We will use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers when required.

12. External Links and Embedded Content

The Public Website may contain links to or embedded content from third-party websites and services. Selecting a third-party link or interacting with embedded content may allow that third party to collect information under its own privacy practices. Ars Fidelium does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. This policy applies only to information processed by or on behalf of Ars Fidelium through the Public Website.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Website Privacy Policy as the Public Website, our services, or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law.
